Lachy’s Latest & Greatest

With the felines rising to the top of both the NRL & AFL competitions we see winter sport draw its curtain on 2022. The Penrith Panthers & Geelong Cats etched their names in history with two very one-sided Grand Finals across the codes. The celebrations made for some great sports content and headlines that are still circling the media outlets today.

But there is no rest for the wicked as our NRL stars have already kicked off the Rugby League World Cup some 15,000km away in England.

Meanwhile back home in Sydney, we are gearing up for another big Summer of Australian Sport. The BBL & WBBL are in full preparations for another year of Big Bash action. Holden got up on their arch-rivals in Bathurst 1000 earlier this month, and Pat Cummins was named ODI Cricket Captain.

If you’re itching to see some finals action sooner rather than later, the AFLW season is in its final rounds before they get stuck into their finals campaign for 2022.

Tennis is in full swing behind the scenes as we move into our final months to decide the Australian Open wildcards for 2023, and get our first glimpse at the production line of Australian Tennis with names like Hayden Jones, Li Tu and Jeremy Jin touted as rising stars of the sport.

To round it all out, we still have the biggest sporting competition in the world right around the corner with the FIFA 2022 World Cup beginning November 20th in Qatar. With 8 different venues in 5 different cities, the most watched sporting event in the world will have us all gripped as the year finds its natural end.
